Jeep Stuff

Okay. The Jeep is back together. Wednesday on the way in to drop Nathan off in the morning, we had a slight "vibration". Thought it might be ice or something throwing the wheel out of balance. No such luck. Thought it was a u-joint. Nope. After leaving it and getting picked up for a ride in, we discovered after trailering it, that it was studs shearing off on the right front wheel. Seems that the prior owner put spacers in when they put slightly larger than stock tires on, and that left less stud to hold on to. At any rate. We have new rotors, brake pads, and studs on that side, and the spacers are out for now. When the new LONG studs arrive, I can put the spacers back in, but I might just go without. At any rate. We're good to go for now. Glad it didn't shear them all off with the 2 of us in the Jeep!

Disney and Steve Jobs

okay. Disney to buy Pixar for $7.4 Billion. That puts Jobs on Disney's Board of Directors. Ouch. Could be cool. Let's wait and see....

It's Monday. To update - the Polaris Apollo runs great. I may be riding it more. Our other sleds have some problems at the moment. Oh well.

Thursday

I only had to serve on the jury one day this week. That was cool. Yesterday was kind of hectic at work. Didn't get any posting done. Wanna see my favorite blog? http://www.dvorak.org/blog/ Yeah, I'm a geek. This is PC Mag's best columnist. He Rocks. I've read him for years. Since about 1989 me thinks. Not too much new otherwise. This pic came off his blog.... How can you NOT like this stuff?

Acorns in my airbox

It's National Mammography Day. Nothing out of the ordinary. It's cool and overcast right now. 47° F. That's only 8° C. Chance of snow late tonight through the weekend. Good thing I worked on snowmobiles last night. I was at Terry's last night, he had to get his sister's sled running. Clean the carbs out, etc. His was gummed up quite nice. Lots of cleaning to do. From the gas left on the floor after running it -there still might be some un-gumming left to do. I had to work on Kitty's snowmobile. It leaked gas out last week when I took it out of the shed just like Terry's sister's. Hmmmmm. This was in much better shape, I was just stupid, and left the gas valve on all summer. I will try and start it tonight. The other sled however was a 1980 Polaris Apollo. Ever heard of it? Yeah, that's it in the picture. At least that's what they looked like in 1980. $100 - can't argue. The airbox was laying under the hood, the carbs were removed from the e...
